Kengo Kuma and Associates - Student Dormitory Grand Morillon
A trip to Switzerland made it possible to visit this newly opened student housing project in Geneva. The circulation is beautifully handled, creating natural meeting points and generous gathering spaces that support everyday student life. Light, materials, and movement work together with clarity, resulting in a calm and welcoming environment that feels both functional and thoughtfully composed.
OSO - The Avior
A high-end housing project in Kitasando, developed by Westbank and designed by Kuma’s office, offered a great experience from start to finish. Working across multiple phases made it possible to see the full evolution of the project, from concept to furnished completion. The final shoot highlighted the refined materials, calm atmosphere, and strong overall vision shaping this residential development.
KOMPAS - Nishiji Project
Another creative collaboration with KOMPAS, this project blends a family house with an attached art gallery. The dual program creates interesting contrasts between intimate living spaces and open exhibition areas. Photographing both empty and furnished conditions showed how naturally the architecture shifts between the two. A thoughtful, flexible design with a strong and expressive character.
KACH - Yanakacho House
A highly creative project in Maebashi and a real pleasure to photograph. Shooting on the same day as the Shinkenchiku photographer added a nice sense of occasion. The relation between the translucent plastic façade and the deep blue sky was almost magical. Sharing the day with a close friend as assistant made it even better, and supporting a young architecture office felt meaningful.
KOMPAS - Ibis Sendagaya
A new collaboration with KOMPAS brought the chance to photograph this mixed family house and office/retail project. The form is intriguing, combining domestic warmth with a clear commercial presence. Shooting both the empty and furnished conditions revealed how flexibly the spaces adapt to different uses. A thoughtful, well-balanced project with a strong architectural identity.
Van Der Architects - House on Kananadori
A smartly designed house with the architect’s private residence seamlessly integrated above a first-floor office. The space embraces natural light and creates a serene atmosphere, blending effortlessly with lush surrounding vegetation, reflecting a harmonious balance between work, living, and nature.
teamLab Architects - KidsLabo Minami-Nagareyama
A first collaboration with teamLab Architects led to this lively nursery project in Chiba. The space is full of energy, color, and constant movement, making the shoot both inspiring and exhausting. Working around children brought a new rhythm to the process, highlighting how interactive and playful the architecture is. A joyful and memorable commission.
Sou Fujimoto Architects - Ishinomaki Cultural Center
Returning to Ishinomaki always carries a personal meaning, having experienced the 2011 earthquake while living near Sendai. Seeing thoughtful architecture grow in this city feels significant, and this project stands out with its distinctive façade and strong presence. Visiting the center also brought back memories of my former boss, adding another layer to the experience. A meaningful place, beautifully realized.
Manabu Chiba Architects - Kumamoto Centers
Those five centers stands as a vibrant community hub after the Kumamoto earthquake. It warmly welcomes all ages, fostering togetherness and resilience. The space is full of life and joy, creating a pleasant visit that celebrates recovery and connection within Kumamoto’s diverse population.
OSO - K House
A compact house near Kamakura Station, handled with impressive clarity and smart budget choices. The design makes the most of a tight site, creating bright, efficient spaces that feel larger than they are. Thoughtful details and a clear concept give the home a strong character, showing how careful architecture can elevate even a modest footprint.
Manabu Chiba Architects - Onomichi Weed-end
A first commission with Manabu Chiba, set on a quiet shore facing the Seto Inland Sea. The house balances openness and privacy with elegant clarity, making the most of its views and limited footprint. Circulation, light, and framing are handled with care, creating a calm, thoughtful living environment perfectly tuned to its landscape.
OSO - Aobadai House
A small residential project in Nakameguro with an impressively efficient footprint. Working again with OSO is always a pleasure, and this house shows their ability to create warmth and clarity in limited space. The façade has a strong, clean presence, while the interior feels open, bright, and carefully organized — a compact home with remarkable spatial quality.

A first visit to Berlin offered the chance to discover this beautifully composed gallery. The architecture feels calm, precise, and deeply considered, with a clarity that enhances the artworks rather than competing with them. Ateliers Jean Nouvel - La Marseillaise Tower
A vibrant landmark on the Marseille waterfront, instantly recognizable for its layered colors and sharp geometry. Spending time around the tower felt meaningful, especially in a place where my grandfather once worked after arriving in France. The façade shifts beautifully with the light, creating new patterns from every angle — a strong, optimistic addition to the city’s skyline.
Frank Gehry - Luma Tower
Visiting the Luma Tower in Arles felt special, especially with family ties to the region. Arriving just before final completion made the experience even more striking. The shimmering, fractured façade echoes the cliffs where I used to climb, giving the project a strong local resonance. A bold, sculptural landmark that transforms the landscape while remaining deeply connected to it.
OSO - Yoshi Yamamoto Shibuya Parco Shop
A compact retail space in Shibuya, carefully crafted with a strong sense of detail. The design feels precise and atmospheric, reflecting the brand’s character even at a small scale. Subtle material choices, controlled lighting, and clean lines create an intimate environment that stands out amid the busy context of Parco. A thoughtful and elegant first retail project.
Nikken Sekkei - Shibuya Scramble Square
The tower has quickly become a new landmark, offering an incredible variety of perspectives over the city. Different levels reveal shifting atmospheres, from urban energy to calm panoramic views. A strong piece of architecture that expresses the dynamism of its surroundings.
Audemars Piguet - Exhibition Tokyo
A first commission for this exhibition in Tokyo offered a great experience with a highly professional team. The space combined refined scenography with a close look at the intricate machines behind watchmaking, revealing the precision and craftsmanship usually hidden from view. Photographing the setup showed how technical beauty and exhibition design can work together to create an engaging atmosphere.
Jean Nouvel - Qatar National Museum
One of the most striking architectural works in Doha, the national museum offers an unforgettable presence with its desert-rose geometry. Every angle reveals a new composition, making it almost impossible not to photograph. The interplay of light, overlapping discs, and sharp shadows creates a sculptural intensity, while the interiors continue the same immersive, cinematic quality.
